The third space yoga studio

I couldn’t see myself reflected in any of the existing yoga studios in my city. So I decided to take it upon myself to make a yoga space I envisioned after the deep learning I experienced in the 300 hour training.

If My Heart Could Talk: A Guided Nidra Experience

If My Heart Could Talk' is a growing movement of heart healing, inner child liberation, and ancestral remembrance: rooted in yoga, storytelling, and somatic truth. It transforms my book into an embodied experience, where each chapter becomes a practice of returning to the body. The five chapters are: "dear mother, dear father, dear ancestors, dear inner child, and dear heart." This work creates a shared place to be seen, to feel deeply, and to release what generations carried without words.

Intuitive Walking

This summer I launched Intuitive Walking, a class focused on mindful svadhyaya and exploring students’ movement and walking samskaras. It was explicitly welcoming to people in larger bodies, trans and nonbinary people, older people, neurodivergent people, and those with chronic health conditions. Next year I will be teaching Intuitive Walking in addition to a couple other inclusive courses. My goal is to provide a psychologically healthy place for people to move and connect.

Teapot Yoga Online Studio 1, 2

Charmaine and Amy were partnered up as buddies when they were studying for Ignite's 300 hours training and have continued to work together since then. Together they run an online accessible yoga studio: Teapot Yoga. At Teapot Yoga there are three key pillars that underpin their work:

1. Embodying yoga as a liberatory practice – yoga is a living tradition that has freedom, joy and bliss at the heart. We practice yoga in its true essence for self-discovery, personal and collective liberation. We also take the time to critique and shape the practice of yoga itself so that we continue to make this practice inclusive and accessible to all.

2. Accessible yoga – ensuring that any person who accesses our classes can find a way to connect with the practice no matter their level of mobility.

3. Anatomy – we believe in embodied wisdom and we find that understanding our anatomy in intricate detail, from the mechanics of the breath to the way our femur bone moves in our hip joint, gives us the access to this wisdom. We learn more about our brains, how our minds work, how trauma impacts us, to help enhance our wellbeing. We become ultra aware of the layers of our existence (physical, energetic, mental, wisdom and bliss) – an essential step in the eight limbs of yoga.

They offer two live classes per week as well as a monthly live call. On Wednesdays 6pm-7pm GMT Charmaine teaches Gentle Strength & Restoration that focuses on accessible asana, the breath and more. On Sundays Amy runs a meditation and energy work class: Contemplate & Embody that includes a practice plus community sharing circle. Monthly we hold our sanghas for the community to come together and reflect on our yoga and more broadly spiritual practice.
